University Football Coach Promotes Theft Team Building

In one of the stranger team building stories this year, a head football coach from the A&M-Commerce University, Texas, has endorsed the actions of some of his team members – who stole copies of the campus newspaper. Guy Morisss called the activities ‘team building’.

Members of the team were caught on video carrying out the theft – relocating copies of The East Texan around campus. It is thought that the motivation behind the theft was more to do with the fact that the paper was carrying a headline that showed the football team in a bad light; Mr. Moriss’ claim that the newspapers were stolen as part of a team building exercise was largely met with suspicion.

Here at Accolade Corporate Events we like to make team building a little more straight forward – and certainly within the bounds of the law! Nevertheless, the team spirit found in the Texan football team has something in common with the results we aim to achieve at Accolade – promoting a team mentality that can bear serious fruit in the business world. If you want to inspire more of a team building attitude in your business, why not see how we can help – by giving our sales team a call today.
