In a Newcastle betting shop, a man who was playing a one armed bandit machine was so intent on the game that he completely failed to notice that a group of three men carrying crow bars and hammers robbed a poor assistant and escaped with a significant amount of money.
How on earth could this happen, the man was in the same room just feet away from where the robbery took place and the robbers even jumped over the counter yet he genuinely did not notice.
You may think this unbelievable but we think that this is just an extreme example of something that happens every day. You can virtually guarantee that it will happen (if it hasn’t already) in your office today. People see what they expect to see or what they are prepared to see, if they are concentrating on one thing then they are often blocking themselves from seeing another and this is where opportunities are missed.
We have a wide range of team building events that incorporate not only multi tasking but the need to notice, to observe and to challenge. Our team focused events rely on your people to have a wider range of observation skills.
